Thanksgiving Farm for Mums, Adamstown, MD 10-2-21

We love the drive out to this nursery and it's easy to do in an afternoon.

Mad Science Brewing Company is on-site on the weekends.

The Wrap

We've been here before so there's not too much to add from our previous post. We love supporting small/individual businesses and this is a good one. All of the plants are grown by Thanksgiving Farm on-site. Their plants are fresh and lush. Bonus- they have farm-grown fruits and veggies along with baked goods you can purchase and also have all sorts of interesting gift items. Mad Science Brewing Company and various food trucks are here on the weekends so after you purchase some plants, relax under an umbrella for lunch. They have added a lot more seating, front and back of the nursery, so there is plenty to choose from. They used to have music on the weekends (pre-Covid) but no longer. We're not sure if that will come back or not.

About Us

Peter and Emily are both native Washingtonians, both having grown up in Bethesda, Maryland. Crazily enough, they met online during the 2020 pandemic and have been inseparable ever since. What started out as a "date" day trip within a couple of weeks of meeting each other, turned into something so much more. The two decided they were having so much fun, they did another day trip the next weekend. And soon they realized it was a great escape from the work week to go explore places within a couple of hours from D.C. It also was a great way to do something outdoors and maintain space during the Covid-19 craziness. What's not to love about being outdoors, getting fresh air and catching the trade winds in your sails... exploring... dreaming... discovering...
