Taking backroads all the way from Rockville into Pennsylvania is a great drive on a nice day.

Taking a selfie with Roxanne, the owner of Yesteryear.

Sometimes you find random things at these places and just have to have them. Emily found one "Speedy Gonzales" glass in one of the booths and was determined to find another and low and behold, another booth had one to make the pair!

Take One-Peter

This place has a ton of things to look through. Plan on a couple of hours as there are 26,000 square feet of stuff to see. The backroads drive going into PA is fun and relaxing.

Take Two-Emily

I love places like Yesteryear. They take you back in time and you always find interesting things to look at. This particular antique center is nice and clean and well kept. I highly recommend a drive there!

Eat, Drink & Be Merry

We stopped off at Serpent Ridge Winery near Westminster, MD, on the way home and was pleasantly surprised. It's a small, mellow place that has nice views of the vineyard and there are tables and chairs to picnic at. Music is going in the background and the overall vibe is mellow and relaxed. Owners Karen and Hal were super nice and fun to talk to. We shared a flight of some of the wines offered and then purchased a bottle of Serpent's Song to take home. They had a delicious wine slushy and Peter got a free one for Father's Day. :) This vineyard has live music and food trucks on Saturdays. Check their website for specific schedules.

The Wrap

Driving into Pennsylvania and finding antique centers is a great way to spend the day. It took us about an hour and twenty minutes to get there and the drive way fun in and of itself. There are many places to go picnic on the way home, with Serpent Ridge being one of them.

Chilling at Serpent Ridge.

About Us

Peter and Emily are both native Washingtonians, both having grown up in Bethesda, Maryland. Crazily enough, they met online during the 2020 pandemic and have been inseparable ever since. What started out as a "date" day trip within a couple of weeks of meeting each other, turned into something so much more. The two decided they were having so much fun, they did another day trip the next weekend. And soon they realized it was a great escape from the work week to go explore places within a couple of hours from D.C. It also was a great way to do something outdoors and maintain space during the Covid-19 craziness. What's not to love about being outdoors, getting fresh air and catching the trade winds in your sails... exploring... dreaming... discovering...
